Chris Golding is a person in long-term recovery from substance use. He found his recovery in the Philadelphia community after several years of treatment attempts and incarceration. As a Peer Recovery Support Specialist, Chris’s passion is working with individuals in or seeking recovery to build recovery capital, foster and develop long-term recovery, and educate communities through awareness and outreach. He knows that recovery is not only possible: through support and engagement, it is probable. Chris believes that there are many pathways to recovery and that anybody can recover, regardless of social determinants of recovery. Chris is highly involved in the Philadelphia recovery community and actively advocates for recovery by sharing his lived experiences within the community. He is trauma-informed, certified in CPR/AED, and trained in mental health first aid. Chris went through his Certified Recovery Specialist and Certified Family Recovery Specialist training with the Unity Recovery Training Institute curriculum.
